SHILLONG: The youth wing of the Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) has reiterated its demand for implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) and resolution of the boundary row with Assam before the State goes ahead with the railway project in Ri Bhoi.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, KHNAM youth wing president Thomas Passah slammed the State Government for taking the railway issue lightly.
“It is not the time for talks. The State Government should do away with the railway project taking into consideration the growing menace of influx of illegal migrants,” he said.
Passah also urged the people to extend support to the organisation to oppose Chief Minister Mukul Sangma’s “intention to suppress the indigenous community”.
