Jammu: At least 12 students trapped in Pakistan firing have been rescued in Nowshera tehsil of Rajouri district. “The students were trapped as Pakistani Army resorted to heavy unprovoked firing in bordering hamlets in Nowshera tehsil of Rajouri,” official sources here said. They said, “Twelve students held up at Primary School Kadali amid heavy shelling were rescued by administration with help of locals and security forces.” Earlier Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Shahid Choudhary said the administration however, had pressed bullet proof bunkers into service to rescue the students. “School students were trapped after Pakistan fired indiscriminately in forward hamlets of Nowshera,” Dr Choudhary said. He said bullet proof vehicles have been rushed to the firing hit areas to rescue the children. Pakistan fired mortars, automatics and small arms to target Army posts and forward villages at 1330 hrs. Indian Army is effectively retaliating to the fire. Rescue operations is still on as some of the students are still trapped in High School Sehar. (UNI)
