Step to prevent dengue in Tura

SHILLONG: In view of the reported rise of vector borne diseases like malaria and dengue in the town, the Chief Executive Officer of Tura Municipal Board, West Garo Hills District, has directed all garage and motor workshop owners to remove all unused tyres immediately from the vicinity of their workplaces, which provides for suitable breeding place of mosquito larvae. Stern action will be taken for non-compliance of the direction, according to a government communique.
