Kovind increases vote share margin against Meira Kumar by over 2.74 lakhs

New Delhi: Of the votes counted for Presidential polls for 11 states and Parliament, the BJP nominee Ram Nath Kovind increased his margin by over 2.74 lakh vote values, Returning Officer for the polls Anoop Mishra told reporters here today. Of the total vote share of 6,84,179 counted so far, Mr Kovind’s vote share stood at 4,79,585 as against 2,04,594 polled by Ms Kumar. The difference in vote share coming to 2,74,991. In Congress-ruled Himachal Pradesh, however, Ms Kumar got support of seven more legislators than her rival. While 37 MLAs in the northern state voted for former Lok Sabha Speaker, making it a total vote value of 1,887; the BJP nominee got support of 30 MLAs accounting a vote values of 1,530. More (UNI)
