SSA teachers demand pending arrears

SHILLONG: The SSA teachers of Garo Hills region under the banner All Garo Hills SSA School Teachers Association (AGHSSASTA), has urged the Government to clear the pending arrears of the teachers and release salary timely.
While appreciating the State Government for understanding the problems being faced by teachers working under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) in Meghalaya, the teachers’ body said that
in two districts, East Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills , D.El.ED Centers and Teachers’ Training Institutes are not functioning.
S. B. Marak, president, AGHSSASTA, said that this has deprived many from getting adequate training.
“Though many memorandums have been served to the Government and all concerned authorities, however, there was no feedback. The teachers urged the chief minister to look into the matter.
