New Delhi: The All India Trinamool Congress today demanded that External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj update the Lok Sabha on the fate of missing missing Indians in Iraq in the light of
the discovery of mass graves in Bandush jail as reported by a journalist from the ground.
”Instead of appreciating the work of the journalist, the External Affairs Minister in her yesterday’s statement on the missing Indians chose to avoid any mention of her reportage,” AITC Member Prof Saugata Roy said in the House, raising the issue during Zero Hour.

When, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan pointed out to him that Ms Swaraj had already spoken on the issue yesterday, Prof Roy said an update was needed after the news report from Bandush.
”We want to hear from the government an authoritative version,” he said.
The External Affairs Minister had in a statement in the House yesterday said that the Government would not declare the missing Indians dead because there was no evidence so far to reach that conclusion.
The Indians, mostly labourers from Punjab, have been missing from Mosul city of Iraq since 2014. UNI
