Two children die, four ill after eating wild mushroom

MAWKYRWAT: Two persons died and four others from the same family became seriously ill after consuming wild mushroom in South West Khasi Hills. The incident took place at Dom Mawiong in Mawkohphet village on July 22, a delayed report said. One of the victims, Sendar Nohriang, said, “After consuming the wild mushroom, all six members of the family became ill. On Sunday, 8-year-old Andari Syiemlieh died and the next day 10-year-old Bahunlang Syiemlieh died at CHC Mawkyrwat.” The other four who are now under treatment in CHC Mawkyrwat are Janailin Syiemlieh (30), Aitida Syiemlieh (55), Sendar Nohriang (45) and Jonising Syiemlieh (17).
