Illegal liquor worth over Rs 2 lakh seized, 2 held

TURA: West Garo Hills police on Friday seized a huge quantity of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) that was being transported for sale in black market.

Checking by police along Tura-Garobadha road led to the seizure of 99 crates of the IMFL including beer worth Rupees two lakh thirty thousand.

Two persons were taken into custody and the Mahindra mini truck which was used for transporting the liquor, was seized.

The arrested men reportedly revealed to police that the liquor was to be sold in the black market in and around Garobadha town and the neighbouring district of South West Garo Hills.
