Constable kills colleague, runs away with weapon

JOWAI: A constable of the 3rd Meghalaya Police Battalion at Sahbsein in West Jaintia Hills shot dead one of his colleagues in the wee hours of Sunday and fled with his weapon.
A lookout notice has been issued against Lusen A Sangma who was allegedly drunk.
Police said around 1 am on Sunday, Sangma stormed into the top-floor room of Havildar Litsingh Inghi, who was with two other subordinates and started firing without provocation.
He fired around six rounds at Inghi who succumbed to his injuries.
The constable then rushed down to the ground floor and fired about 15 more rounds indiscriminately before fleeing with Inghi’s weapon.
The details of the incident and the accused have been shared with all the officials of Meghalaya Police with a direction to arrest absconding Sangma.
