SHILLONG: The immediate joining of any sitting legislator to BJP is unlikely though some wanted to meet BJP president Amit Shah during his visit to the city next month.
BJP state president Shibun Lyngdoh said on Sunday that at the moment, the meeting of some MLAs with the BJP national president will be a ‘courtesy call’.
According to Lyngdoh, the date of Shah’s visit will be fixed sometime next week since his scheduled visit on August 12 was postponed.
Lyngdoh said the timing of the meeting of legislators with Shah will be finalised only after the latter’s visit is confirmed.
The BJP state leader said the party is planning to contest in all the 60 seats and the final decision in this regard will be taken by the central leadership.
