MUPSTA calls upon teachers to remain focused

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Upper Primary School Teachers Association (MUPSTA) has called upon teachers of the state to be focused on their job and be wary of people who may try to mislead them.

 K. Shadap, president of the association, while urging teachers to be wise and not be misled by people, said, “Sometimes there may be differences with the leaders regarding the demands of the association but this will improve more understanding and learning among the teaching fraternity because the aims and objectives stand for the same.”

 Shadap was addressing the general meeting of MUPSTA East Khasi Hills Unit at Savio Hall, Laitumkhrah here on Saturday

 All the state leaders attending in the meeting had given a brief report regarding the functional and agitation programmes of the MUPSTA in the past three or four years till date.

 Further, the president said the teachers needed to understand there would be more difficulties and problems in the days to come. “You must to complete teachers training such as D. El, B. Ed. and other qualifications in accordance with the RTE Act 2010,” he said.

The association also elected the new office bearers for the year 2017 – 2020 with P. Khongstid (Raid Nongkhlieng UPS) as president, Pynkhraw Kharumnuid (Sohryngkham UPS) as vice-president, B. Kurkalang (Thynroit Pres. UPS) as general secretary, Dhosingh Mukhim (Rising Sun UPS Mawryngkneng) as assistant general secretary, besides seven executive members.
