3 MLAs in HSPDP’s first list of 10 poll candidates

SHILLONG: The Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP), State Election Committee released its first list of its poll candidates for 10 Assembly constituencies for the upcoming Assembly elections 2018.

Announcing the first list of ten poll candidates, the HSPDP in a statement said it would release the next list of candidates for the remaining constituencies to be contested by the party in the coming months.

Three sitting MLAs of the party — Phlastingwell Pangniang will contest from Rambrai Jyrngam constituency, Witting Mawsor from Mawshynrut constituency and Diosstarness Jyndiang from Nongstoin constituency.

Two sitting MDCs who have featured in the first list are Mylliem MDC, Teilinia Thangkhiew and Sohiong MDC, Samlin Malniang.

The poll candidates list also features two prominent leaders – Pynshai Manik Syiem from Mawphlang constituency and Martle M Mukhim from Mawkynrew constituency.

The HSPDP has also fielded three new candidates- a social worker Biolinda L Nonglait from Mawthadraishan constituency, a law graduate, Defender Pakem from Sutnga-Saipung and a noted lawyer, Alester Neville Diengdoh from North Shillong constituency.
