Aadhaar enrolment in WGH soon

SHILLONG/TURA: The enrolment for Aadhaar in West Garo Hills will begin soon, said the district’s Deputy Commissioner Pravin Bakshi on Friday.
Bakshi said in the first and initial phase, Aadhaar enrolment will be done for government employees at the DC office.
Enrolment will also be conducted at Montfort School at Danakgre in Tura for differently abled students. A special drive will be organised for ITI students at Tura Municipal Board office.
Enrolment for income tax assesses and CBSE students will be notified shortly. Stating that around 5 lakh in the district are to be enrolled for Aadhaar, Bakshi added that no local area committee or Nokma should charge anything for issuance of residential certificate as it is their public duty and obligation.
The enrolment for Aadhaar in the District was conducted earlier but later it was stopped. Over 3 lakh citizens in Meghalaya have enrolled for Aadhaar so far.
