Children’s film fest from Monday

SHILLONG: Children’s Film Society India (CFSI) is once again bringing silver screen magic to Meghalaya with support from the State Board of School Education.
The film festival, CFSI Bonanza, will start on Monday and continue till 4 September.
The festival will travel to Tura, Ampati and Williamnagar.
Shravan Kumar, CEO of CFSI, said, “Our goal is to provide world class and valuable film entertainment to children and at the same time help them understand the nuances of film making through workshops, interactions with filmmakers and exciting activities.”
The festival will be inaugurated in Tura and the opening film will be Kima’s lode.
The film is about a remote border town of “Chhimtui,” in northeast India that will be shaken up as 12-year-old boy “Kima” goes missing.
The festival will also travel to remote part of Nagaland and Tripura.
“In my capacity as both Executive Chairman of MBOSE and Deputy Commissioner West Garo Hills, Tura I am delighted in partnering with CFSI for the film bonanza for children in Tura and South West Garo Hills , Ampati in four selected schools.” West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Pravin Bakshi.
“We hope the children will love every bit of it and enjoy the cinematic experience,” he added .
