SHILLONG: Congress legislator Prestone Tynsong said he was not consulted before the party dissolved the Pynursla Block Congress Committee on Saturday and asserted that he would contest the Assembly polls despite the adversities.
“The Block Congress president, Emlinstone, called me up on Saturday to inform that the Block was dissolved even without his knowledge,” Tynsong, who is currently camping in Shimla, said on Sunday.
When asked about the reason for the sudden dissolution of the Block unit, Tynsong said, “That you should ask MPCC.”
MPCC has appointed H. Khongthani as the new president and entrusted him to submit the names of new members to MPCC.
To another query, Tynsong said on a sarcastic note that due to the change of guard in the Block Congress Committees, maybe the party wants to increase the tally of MLAs from the present 16 in Khasi-Jaintia Hills to 25.
Asked about his action plan following the humiliation, Tynsong said, “I will contest the polls. I do not want to comment anything further”.
