SHILLONG:  On being dissolved by Meghalaya Pradesh Congress (MPCC), the Pynursula Block Congress Committee (BCC) on Tuesday denied they had been indulging in anti-party activities.

Speaking to media persons after a meeting of the former members of the Committee, Banangsan Tynsonmg who is the General Secretary of Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress and member of the committee said that they had no idea as why the bloc congress committee had been dissolved all of a sudden.

“It is useless to talk to them (Congress) as they just dissolved the block over a phone call and they did not trust us,” he said.

When asked if they would join a new party, he said that   the matter would be first discussed with the people of the area before taking a call on the matter.

Maintaining that they had 8000 members in their block, he said that he was no longer concerned that dissolution of the committee would affect Congress party in elections. “It is their (Congress) concern now and I have to think for myself,” he said.

The block committee members so far have not discussed the matter with the local MLA Prestone Tynsong since he is out of station.

Earlier, there were speculations that, MLA from Pynursula Prestone Tynsong would join National People’s Party (NPP) but the speculation was termed baseless by the senior Congress leader.
