Students demand govt college

SHILLONG: The Ri-Bhoi Students’ Union (RBSU) met Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on Wednesday pertaining to the establishment of Government College in Ri-Bhoi district.
“The talks (with the CM) were fruitful. On his part, he has given an assurance that the government college will be christened as Ri-Bhoi Community College which can be set up at Umroi or Nongpoh as per the discretion of the Education department,” RBSU president EJ Nongpluh said.
He added that in a community college, teachers will not get transferred from one college to another like it happen in government colleges.
