SHILLONG: A parcel containing an ATM card was sent to Lionel Messi in Dawki, West Jaintia Hills.
But the letter returned undelivered as the addressee was not available.
The SBI head office, Mumbai, had sent the ATM card through the post office to be delivered to ‘Lionel Messi’ with the address, West Jaintia Hills, PO Dawki, Sohkha Model Mathmat, 793109, on the parcel.
While sending the bulk ATM card parcels to various destinations, the name of the Argentine footballer was not noticed by postal officials at the main post office here.
“We noticed the name of Lionel Messi only when it returned undelivered to the main post office recently,” a postal official said.
He said the ATM parcel will now go back to the SBI Mumbai office.
“It may be possible that somebody by the name Messi from Dawki had applied for the ATM card, but it has now become mysterious since nobody claimed it,” the official added.
