Khasi film ‘Kynjah’ released

SHILLONG: A Khasi film titled, “Kynjah” (Lonely) directed by Emdor Suchiang was released on Tuesday by noted Khasi filmmaker, Commander Shangpliang at Shillong Press Club.

Elvistar Kharbudon producer of the film, “Kynjah” said the movie will be screened on September 22 at Bijou cinema hall and will be shown for one week. “Acting and film making is an opportunity for youngsters to get employment in an age plagued by grave unemployment problem,” he added.

The story deals with the protagonist suffering from Bipolar disorder. “People should watch the movie as it more of a suspense movie,” he said.

Commander Shangpliang said that the movie will be screened for only one week at the cinema hall and urged the people to support by watching the movie.  “It is difficult to come up with a CD as piracy is rampant,” he asserted.

When asked, Kharbudon informed that the movie was made at a budget of Rs 50 lakh and the movie was delayed due to issues regarding Goods and Services Tax (GST).
