SHILLONG: Aggrieved candidates aspiring to be a part of the Special Force -10 (SF-10) have pledged to take legal recourse to secure their rights.
The High Court of Meghalaya has recently quashed the advertisement and recruitment process of SF-10 commandos, citing anomalies carried out by the Home department.
The candidates had completed their written examination and interview and were awaiting the declaration of their results.
Expressing their dissatisfaction on the delay, a section of the candidates told reporters here on Tuesday that they would approach lawyers to file a public interest litigation (PIL) on their behalf at the High Court.
Their woes were compounded by the fact that they could not meet the Home (Police) Minister in charge, HDR Lyngdoh and Principal Secretary, MS Rao on Tuesday.
One of them said the candidates were upset as their results were withheld following the Court action.
He informed that over 1000 candidates have passed the personal interview.
