NONGSTOIN: The Hill State People’s Democratic Party ( HSPDP) Nongstoin area chose D. Jyndiang as its candidate for the 2018 Assembly polls.
All the 30 primary units unanimously decided to support sitting legislator, Jyndiang in the meeting called on Friday. The units appreciated the decision of the party under the guidance of Ardent Miller Basawiamoit for choosing the right candidate.
The meeting of the HSPDP held at Bishop Hall, New Nongstoin on Friday, witnessed the strength of 30 primary units.
The presidents and the general secretaries of the Unit were also present.
The HSPDP also reconstituted the youth and women’s wings, which the party had dissolved in the past.
In the meeting, the party elected Etildalin Marngar as the new president and Iaida Syiemiong the general secretary of the women’s wing.
Micheal Thongni was elected as the youth wing president and Banlumlang Kharbani as the general secretary.
Party’s vice president, T. Lyngdoh who chaired the meeting informed the members that the meeting was called for discussing and deciding the fate of the people of Nongstoin in the Assembly polls in 2018.
A coordination committee of the UDP and the HSPDP and also the Election Committee was formed to share and implement their strategies in order to win the upcoming election.
The party also decided to invite Basawiamoit, HSPDP president and Donkupar Roy, UDP president to explain the aims and objectives for having alliance between the two parties.
Speaking in the meeting, Jyndiang extended gratitude to all the members for rendering their service to the party from the time of Hoping Stone Lyngdoh, the leader of the party.
He also said that HSPDP will never change its stand and ideology as it is the party of the people.“Our leader (L) Hopingstone Lyngdoh had initiated his clean politics campaign when he joined politics till the day he died and with his demise we will continue to carry on the mission to change,” he said.
Jyndiang further added that with the support of the people of Nongstoin, he is confident that he would emerge victorious with the blessings from the late leader Hoping Stone.
“I hope that I will become the successor of Bah Hoping Stone Lyngdoh by people’s choice,” he said.
He also said that many HSPDP leaders have changed their affiliations, especially in time of crisis.
He added that with the loyalty of many supporters, he is committed to lead the party and the people of Nongstoin.
He also urged the party leaders to not be misled by people who are not in the party anymore.
