SHILLONG: The District State Legal Services Authority organised a cleaning drive in the Secretariat hills locality, with special concentration on the areas near Shillong Bar Association, DC office and the District and Session Judge Court, on Saturday.
The cleaning drive was organised as part of their annual Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Officials from MUDA, Shillong Municipal Board, East Khasi Hills Police, Forest department, PWD, Fire and emergency service, members and lawyers of the Shillong Bar Association and staff of the DC Office actively participated in the drive.
Chief Judicial Magistrate B Khriam, East Khasi Hills SP, Davis R Marak, Deputy Commissioner PS Dkhar, and E Kharumnuid, District and Sessions Judge, besides all judicial and executive magistrates, played an active role in the drive.
Tree saplings were also planted on the occasion.
