Haryana provides Rs 5 crore to Assam CM’s relief fund

GUWAHATI: Haryana Government has contributed Rs 5 crore to Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund  for the flood-hit people of the state.

 

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal received the cheque of Rs 5 crore from Nayab Singh Saini, Minister of State for Labour & Employment, Government of Haryana at Brahmaputra State Guest House in Guwahati on September 26.

 

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier called upon the state governments of the country to provide assistance to the people of Assam who were hit by three waves of flood this year.

 

 Earlier, two other BJP-ruled states, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh provided assistance to Assam in response to the call from the Prime Minister.
