TURA: The authorities of different schools under Selsella Block in West Garo Hills have submitted a joint complaint to the deputy commissioner seeking his intervention on the problems being faced with regard to submission of final list of genuine teachers for Teachers Information Management System (TIMS).

According to the teachers, the final list of teachers submitted by the District Mission Coordinator (DMC) of Selsella was rejected by the DMC Tura on account of discrepancies and a new order issued on June 15 directing the Block Mission Coordinator (BMC) of Selsella to call for particulars of the teachers and select a teacher each for language, science and social Studies subjects including a fourth teacher from among the staff.

After the new order, relevant documents of the teachers were again submitted and after verification the BMC, Selsella submitted the final list of genuine teachers for TIMS in the office of the DMC SSA in Tura on August 23.

However, yet another new order seeking verification of teachers’ list was issued on September 18 this year citing discrepancies in the final list that was submitted.

In their complaint to the DC the teachers have sought the cancellation of the order issued on September 18 and to accept the final TIMS list of teachers submitted earlier on August 23.

“The question of discrepancies in the U-DISE is being created by the office itself as all schools fill up the U-DISE every year as per the staff status. It is the office which has not taken any initiative to correct the discrepancies,” the teachers claimed.
