CM urged to up-grade Tura college

TURA: Meghalaya Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma has been urged to look into the various infrastructure requirements of the Tura Government College.

A memorandum was submitted to Dr Sangma by the Tura Government College Students’ Union (TGCSU) during the Youth Entrepreneurship and Business Development Awareness Programme held recently at the college.

In the memorandum the union sought the appointment of full-fledged vice principal, lecturers and ministerial staff in vacant posts, up-gradation of commerce department into commerce stream, speedy release of post-matric scholarship for the session 2012-13, introduction of new subjects, construction of gallery for college playground, conduct of study tours and field trips, up-gradation of classrooms, stocking of new books in the library as per the syllabus, replacement for old college bus, indoor stadium hall, up-gradation of science lab and establishment of a full-fledged morning shift classes besides others.
