DCs notify on draft electoral rolls

TURA: Separate notifications have been given by the deputy commissioners of East and West Garo Hills with regard to draft electoral rolls of different Assembly Constituencies in their respective districts.

The East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner informed that draft electoral roll for 41-Songsak, 42-Rongjeng and 43-Williamnagar Assembly Constituencies has been prepared in accordance with the registration of Electors Rules, 1960 a copy of which, was available for inspection in the office of the Electoral Registration Officers and at designated locations during office hours.

The DC added that any claim for inclusion or objection to a name or particulars in the roll should be lodged between September 27 and October 31, 2017 in appropriate forms.

In another notification, it was informed also by the Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills that draft electoral rolls for 11 Assembly Constituencies falling under the district had been handed over to all National and State recognized political parties with the same time period for claims and objections.

The claims and objections can be filed at respective polling stations where Booth Level Officers (BLOs) would already be in place, the DC added.
