SHILLONG: The employee of Tura Civil Hospital whose video in inebriated condition went viral has been suspended and a summary inquiry has been ordered for his subsequent termination from service.

Deputy Commissioner of Tura and Chairman, Hospital Management Society, Tura Civil Hospital, Pravin Bakshi stated that the Hospital Management Society has viewed the matter very seriously and such criminal misconduct would not be tolerated.

Furthermore, he said that it had been reported by the hospital authorities that the staff has had a record of alcoholism and in fact had even been sent for three months rehabilitation.

“However, sadly, for all the genuine concern the doctors showed for his chronic addiction, he has lamentably shown no improvement.  We feel sorry for his family,” Bakshi added.
