NONGPOH: With barely a few months left for the state assembly election, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday inaugurated its Ri Bhoi District on at Nongpoh as a part of its initiative to strengthen the party organisation in the state.
The new office of the BJP in Ri Bhoi District was inaugurated by the state general secretary of the BJP, Bashai Khongwir at the presence of the district party president, B Makdoh, president of Nongpoh BJP Mandal, Anthony Kharnaior, party workers from different polling booths and the supporters.
Addressing the inaugural function Bashai Khongwir lauded the supporters and party workers of Ri Bhoi district for their ability to open the office of the party which is one of the initiatives meant for strengthening the party before the upcoming 2018 elections.
He also appealed to the party workers to maintain the spirit of unity for the victory of the party in the upcoming election and said the party was all set to come to the power after the election in Meghalaya.
