General meeting
The general meeting of the past pupils of Gorkha Secondary School, 3rd Mile, Upper Shillong-5 will be held on October 7 at the school premises at 10 am. The past pupils’ association urged former students to attend the meeting.

Prize distribution
The prize distribution ceremony of the 27th Manik Ghosh memorial drawing and painting competition organised by Rilbong Sports & Cultural Club will be held onOctober 7 at 4 pm at the Rilbong Sports & Cultural Club Conference Hall. All prize winners are requested to attend the prize distribution ceremony.

Facilitation centre
As part of promoting various enterprises through training, exposure visit and other programmes for building capacity of the entrepreneurs within the locality of Jowai, the District Basin Development Unit, West Jaintia Hills District has set up a District Enterprise Facilitation Centre, at DC office room No. 141 top floor. For further details interested persons or groups can visit the centre.

Draft electoral rolls
The Electoral rolls of 1-Nartiang (ST), 2-Jowai (ST), 3-Raliang (ST) and 4-Mowkaiaw (ST) Assembly Constituencies have been prepared in accordance with the Registration of Electoral Rules, 1960 and are available for inspection in the office of the respective Electoral Registration Officers and at designated Polling Station locations during office hour with January 1, 2018 as the qualifying date for preparation of the electoral rolls.

Rice and SK oil released
The Deputy Commissioner ( Supply), West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai informed on Thursday that the Antyodaya Anna Yojna (AAY), Priority House Hold (PHH) and Non-NFSA quota of rice for the month of September, 2017 has been released and is available at all fair price shops.

 Anniversary
The Khasi Students’ Union, Barak Valley Circle in Lower Assam will observe its 10th anniversary on Saturday. Leaders of the union requests all Khasi Pnar people residing in Barak valley particularly all former leaders of the union to attend the foundation day.
