HDR opens police station in Ri Bhoi

NONGPOH: Fulfilling the long-cherished dreams of the people of Mawhati constituency, State Home Minister HDR Lyngdoh on Friday inaugurated the Umsohlait Police Station at Umsohlait, Mawhati.
The event was also attended by PHE Minister C Lyngdoh, Additional Director General of Police, BL Buam, Inspector General of Police, H Nongpluh, Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner, CP Gotmare, Ri Bhoi police chief, Ramesh Singh, Mawhati MDC James Sylliang among others.
Speaking at the event, Lyngdoh said that the police station was inaugurated as to ensure the safety of the local people and to eradicate all kind of anti-social elements adding that the government led by Mukul Sangma was responsive and accommodative to the demands of the people and the fulfillment of their dreams and aspiration.
Complying with the demand of Synjuk ki Rangbah Shnong Mawhati Area for the creation of Civil Sub Division, the Home Minister said that he will take up this matter with the government to concede their demand, but if not Civil Sub Division the government will try to get them an administrative unit.
