UDP, HSPDP form coordination committee at Nongstoin

NONGSTOIÑ: The United Democratic Party (UDP) and the Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) on Monday formed a Coordination committee which agreed to work together in coordination in the upcoming Assembly election in the state.

During the meeting the UDP has decided to support the HSPDP party in Nongstoin constituency for upcoming the election.

The coordination committee between the HSPDP and UDP appointed D Jyndiang, MLA of Nongstoin, as the chairman who is also the candidate of HSPDP.  Shanbor Lyngdoh, the President of UDP Nongstoin, was appointed as the Secretary.

Shanbor told that the UDP would extended their support as per the direction from the party leaders from Shillong and the party would not contest against the allied group. He hoped that the HSPDP would emerge victorious to form a government.

The meeting was held at the office of the HSPDP Nongstoin where D Jyndiang was present along with Moslander Marngar the candidate of UDP in the last by-election, Thingly Lyngdoh, Vice-President of the HSPDP Nongstoin area unit and other members of both the parties.

Jyndiang also expressed his joy and gratitude for the UDP who have agreed to this alliance in Rambrai and other constituencies in West Khasi Hills District because this alliance, he said, could bring about victory of the Hill State Parties in the Assembly election 2018.

He also stated that he supported the alliance between the two parties as it would strengthen both the parties.

He further said that the coordination committee would also hold a meeting in Nongstoin where central party leaders from UDP and HSPDP will also attended.
