Arms, ammunition recovered by Amlarem police

SHILLONG: Amlarem police have recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from a bordering village and arrested one person in this connection on Friday morning.

Acting on a tip-off about existence of illegal arms in a specific location in a village called Nongbareh Rim located close to India-Bangladesh border about 23 kilometers away from Amlarem Sub-Division Headquarter, a team of policemen led by SDPO Amlarem, Jason Marom, conducted a wee hours raid in the village and seized one muzzle loading single barrel rifle, 41 live ammunition and one container of gun powder.
