JOWAI: Student leader Solomon Rymbai, who was arrested recently confessed to his crime of extortion and on his leading, police on Sunday recovered and seized one US made pistol with one empty magazine which he had concealed.
Rymbai, 24, was arrested for demanding money from government officers, including JHADC officers and businessmen in Jaintia Hills in the past. He had also used the name of HNLC on one occasion.

SHILLONG: On October 12 circa 3.30 pm, four miscreants armed with dao in one Maruti Alto-800 car, waylaid one truck (AS-01FC-6523) driven by Syed Uddin at Wah Mynso, NH-44 in West Jaintia Hills and robbed Rs. 45,000 from the driver.
