SHILLONG: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson, Nalin Kohli, maintained that the common adversary of the political parties in the state be it the UDP, BJP, NPP, HSPDP is the Congress party.

He told reporters on Thursday, “The common agenda is to fight against the Congress. The main political adversary in this election is the Congress party for everybody who wants to ensure that Meghalaya has a good development.”

Stating that the 2018 Assembly elections will be an interesting one, he said, “We will expose the track record of the Congress government. The Congress government of Mukul Sangma does not want to fight this election on its promises and track record. They want to fight the election in opposing the BJP and spreading false propaganda.”

Furthermore, Kohli said that the party will destroy the negative false propaganda against the BJP because the BJP’s agenda is positive.

Commenting on the demonetisation move which will mark its first anniversary on November 8, he said, “The BJP is celebrating everything in the fight against corruption and black money, the Congress is opposing everything in the fight against corruption and black money.”

According to him, the Congress did not bring any law on foreign assets or people who take money abroad, the party did not bring any law or any demonetization move to kill black money.

“The Congress must explain why they are so interested in protecting black money, why are they interested in opposing the fight against black money,” Kohli remarked.
