SHILLONG: The Seng Samla of Mawkneng village in East Khasi Hills has filed an FIR against the office of the Executive Engineer Revenue Sub-Division-I, Lumjingshai and Sohiong Revenue Section, Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited (MePDCL).
Addressing the press on Tuesday, Curtis Rani, president of the Seng Samla, criticised the Meghalaya Electricity Corporation Limited for its dishonesty in preparing electricity bills at Sohiong Revenue Section in the recent months.
“The meter reading printed in the bill and on the meter have wide difference. The residents are surprised as light bills are very high even after paying the dues,” Rani said.
He had approached MLA HDR Lyngdoh and MDC Samlin Malniang in this regard but to no avail.
