IT case against Lajong, Pegasus

SHILLONG: The income tax department recently filed criminal cases against Shillong Lajong Football Club and Hotel Pegasus for alleged tax evasion.
Sources said that cases were filed under various sections of the IT Act before the chief judicial magistrate, Shillong. Sources added that two separate criminal cases were filed against Shillong Lajong Football Club under two sections of Income Tax Act1961 for its failure to pay the tax to the credit of the central government and failure to pay the tax collected at source, while a single case was filed against Pegasus Hotel.
