Marwein wants party members to work hard
SHILLONG: United Democratic Party (UDP) candidate from North Shillong Constituency, Joe Marwein has urged the party functionaries of Wahingdoh Unit to work hard and to create public awareness on the issues he is fighting for. Gearing up for the Assembly 2018 elections, Wahingdoh unit held a general meeting on Friday, in which they have also elected new members of the unit which include Arban Gatrai as president, George Suting as vice president and others.

CM to inaugurate Administrative Unit in EGH
WILLIAMNAGAR: Chief Minister, Dr. Mukul Sangma will inaugurate the new Administrative Unit at Rongjeng in East Garo Hills on November 14. In this regard, Deputy Commissioner, Ram Kumar had given instructions to all the Government departments and the officials concerned to coordinate with the district administration as well as the Block Development Officer of Rongjeng.

Children’s Day at Sein Jaintia
SHILLONG: Congress ticket aspirant from West Shillong Mahendro Rapsang has said improving the education system would be one of his priorities if elected in the 2018 Assembly polls. Rapsang was speaking at the Children’s Day celebration at Sein Jaintia Secondary School on Saturday. Teachers took part in the song and dance events and a drama on cleanliness.

MPUF on Swachh mission
SHILLONG: The Meghalaya People’s United Front (MPUF)-East Jaintia Hills has alleged that some residents of Pynurkba in the district are not aware of Swachh Bharat Mission and could not avail themselves of the benefits under the central scheme. Michal Chyrmang, president of the district MPUF, said the organisation will meet the headman of Pynurkba, Ras Rymbai to seek information from him.

PDF forms youth, women wing
SHILLONG: People’s Democratic Front has formed the State Youth Front and State Women’s Front at Khasi National Dorbar Hall on Saturday, in a way to strengthen the party for the Assembly elections.The State Youth’s Front will be led by Hamlet Dohling as president and other members while the State Women’s Front will be led by Grace Mary Kharpuri as president.
