Teachers’ agitation
The All Meghalaya SSA School Teachers’ Association along with the All Garo Hills SSA School Teachers Association (AGHSSASTA) will protest in Tura on Thursday. The Association will further launch democratic agitations if the state government does not respond to their demands at the earliest.

Mid-day meal rice
The Deputy Commissioner (Supply) West Jaintia Hills District has informed that the mid-day meal rice for L.P Schools, UP Schools and OoSC for the month of July, August and September, under Mid-day Meal Scheme has been released and is being distributed through the respective Fair Price Shop Dealers for Jowai Sardar and it will be delivered free of cost to the schools by the fair price shop dealers. Scale of issue is 5.860 Kgs per student for L.P Schools and 8.530 Kgs per student for U.P Schools. Necessary permit will be issued till December 15.  

Plastic bags ban
The Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh has imposed a ban on the use of polythene in the tourist destinations across the district, to transform the destinations in terms of cleanliness and leverage upon positive testimony of visitors.

College week
Mawsynram Border Area College kick start its College Week on Monday. The staff, students and members of Alumni Association participated in the function to encourage the students. The president of Alumni Association K. Shangdiar donated waste basket to Principal incharge P. Bang to observe and maintain environmental cleanliness.
