Free eye camp
Lions Club of Shillong will organise a free eye check up camp at Lions Vocational cum Service Centre at Bishnupur, Shillong on November 28 from 11 am to 1 pm. Dr J.V Basaiawmoit, Senior Ophthalmologist, Lion, will conduct the screening along with her team. The camp will be inaugurated by local MLA Sanbor Shullai.
Rice released
The Deputy Commissioner (Supply) West Jaintia Hills has informed that Midday Meal rice for LP, UP and OsSC under the mid day meal scheme for July, August and September will be distributed with effect from November 13 through their respective Fair Price shop dealers for Jowai Sadar.
Meeting
Meghalaya Pensioners’ Association will hold the 37th annual general meeting at 11.30 am at the Seminar Hall, State Central Library on November 21.
Inauguration
District Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Office, Shillong in collaboration with Meghalaya Institute of Entrepreneurship will inaugurate the Livestock Development Center on November 21 at Sohiong Veterinary Dispensary from 10:30 am onwards in which HDR Lyngdoh, AH & Veterinary department, will be the chief guest.
Children’s Day
Rilang Children’s Home celebrated Children’s Day on November 14 where the staff performed different activities for the children and reminded them about their rights. All the children were provided with gifts.
Music fest
The official programme on the Grand Musical Nite to honour Rockstar Browny R. Marak was released on Friday. The programme will be held on November 25 at Nisangram. Tura MP Conrad Sangma will grace the programme as the chief guest. Eight musical bands have been selected to perform on the occasion.
D.El.Ed exam
The Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) trainees of 2015 batch of Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School Study Center are informed that the practical and internal D.El.Ed examination for the absentee trainees will be held on November 22 from 10 am to 11 am in the premises of Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School Study Center, Jail Road. Mirth LM Blah, coordinator of the school, has directed the trainees to attend the practical and internal examinations positively as per the guidelines of the National Institute of Open Schooling.
