SHIILLONG: The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) will act as a placement agency for its unemployed primary members.
In a statement to the media issued on Saturday, the party asked its unemployed young members to send job applications to LJP’s state secretary.
“LJP will work as a placement agency and search for jobs for the needy unemployed youths,” the statement read.
LJP has also asked the Centre to include Khasi, Jaintia and Garo languages in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.
DK Gupta, the party’s chief general secretary in Meghalaya, said in the statement a delegation would soon meet Governor Ganga Prasad and submit a memorandum in this regard.
The statement also mentioned that the party was concerned about the green tribunal’s ban on coal mining in the state.
It said the National Green Tribunal wants miners here to implement scientific methods without harming the environment.
“We will provide financial assistance to miners to purchase specific machines required for scientific mining (if voted to power). We will also bring a concrete mining policy,” LJP further stated.
