Hackathon grand finale kicks off ahead of GCCS 2017

New Delhi:  The two-day curtain raiser leading to the the Global Conference on Cyber Space (GCCS) 2017 this week kicked off on Tuesday with a 36-hour challenge in the grand finale of the “Global Cyber Challenge”.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the fifth edition of GCCS here on November 23.
Global Cyber Challenge is an important part of the two-day GCCS 2017, to be attended by delegates of nearly 120 countries. The challenge comprises of two contests namely, Capture the Flag Event, and Peace-a-thon.
The open challenge would be closed at 9 pm on the second day of the curtain raiser, an official statement said.
As a side event to the hackathon grand finale, the State Bank of India also hosted Ideathon, wherein ideas to strengthen their soon-to-be launched app YONO (You Only Need One) were invited from the participants, it added.
The top three ideas were recognised with a prize money of Rs. 25,000, Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 and two consolation prizes worth Rs 5,000 each. The money was transferred to the individual winners’ bank accounts through BHIM UPI app.
In the run up to the GCCS 2017, 14 events are being held where approximately 1400 stakeholders are participating.
The theme of GCCS 2017 is Cyber4All: A Secure and Inclusive Cyberspace for Sustainable Development.(IANS)
