NGO’s bid to promote tourism, livelihood in EJH

SHILLONG: With an aim to provide employment to local youth and promote a tourist spot in East Jaintia Hills (EJH), the Rymbai Elaka Tourism and Environment Society will hold the Latuhin Festival on December 1 at Lamu Falls, Iapmala village, East Jaintia Hills (Rymbai-Leshka).

Informing this, Glorious Bareh, coordinator of the society said that the society is trying to promote Lamu falls which is regarded as a scenic beauty in EJH in addition to other tourist spots.

In a relief to travelers, he informed that the road condition is good although it is 140 km from Shillong. “So far we have taken up the task of repairing roads,” Bareh said, adding that it cost over Rs 2 lakhs.
