TURA: The landslide win by the BJP in Uttar Pradesh civic polls  defeating the Congress even in Rahul Gandhi’s Amethi constituency has been celebrated by the party in Garo Hills in Meghalaya.
The overwhelming victory of the BJP in Uttar Pradesh where it won 14 of the state’s 16 Municipal Corporations was hailed by the Garo Hills unit of the party.
The State Vice President of the BJP, Rikman G. Momin while celebrating the victory said ” for decades Congress had a stronghold  in both Amethi and Bareilly, held by the Gandhi family. Today they  have lost the civic elections in both constituencies badly.”
He hoped that the party would once again be celebrating another landslide victory of the BJP in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh when results are declared on 18 December.
“Wait and watch. We will form our government in both the states,” claimed Momin.
Joining the victory celebrations of the party, BJP East Garo Hills District President  Rakesh N. Marak added that “Our celebrations won’t end just there. It will be followed in the year 2018 when we will emerge victorious and form our first government in Meghalaya also. That time celebrations of our victory will take place in other states too.”
