SHILLONG: The District Magistrate of East Khasi Hills, PS Dkhar has promulgated section 144 CrPC in view of the forthcoming session of Meghalaya Legislative Assembly to be held from December 8 to14 as there is possibility that some pressure groups may stage protest in front of the temporary Assembly chamber at Rilbong and State Secretariat building during the session.
It may be noted that the Assembly session will be for three days i.e. December 8, 13 and 14. The order came into force on December 6 from 8:00 hours till the conclusion of the Assembly session.
To ensure peace, tranquility and smooth conduct of the session in the House, the District Magistrate has prohibited the assembly of five or more persons within radius of 500 m and 100m of the temporary assembly chamber and Meghalaya Secretariat (Main and Additional Building).
Further, he has prohibited the person or group of persons from obstructing any vehicular movement in the area around the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly premises.
