BJP’s beef crusader in NGH joins NPP

TURA: George Bacheng Ch Marak or Bachu Marak, the former North Garo Hills district president of BJP who resigned from the party over ban on cow slaughter, has joined the National People’s Party (NPP).
Eleven BJP members also joined NPP with Marak, who quit the saffron party in June, on Monday in presence of NPP ministers from Manipur.
The new entrants were welcomed with traditional Garo scarfs. Dadenggre MLA James K Sangma, Songsak MLA Nihim D Shira, former Rajya Sabha MP Thomas A Sangma, Damas MDC Dolly K Sangma and Rongrong MDC Sukaram K Sangma were among the guests.
Manipur’s Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar Singh and two of his ministers and NPP National Youth President Ratika Yumnam also congratulated Marak and his followers.
