NCP removes Shullai as state party chief

SHILLONG: In an indication that the, one NCP MLA in Meghalaya, Sanbor Shullai is set to join the BJP, he has been relieved from the post of the president of NCP, Meghalaya unit.

He was relieved from the post based on the recommendations of NCP General Secretary, Praful Patel after considering the fact that he will be busy in his own constituency and will not be able to give sufficient time for the party in the forthcoming Assembly elections.

Meanwhile, Vijay Raj has been appointed as the working president of the NCP, Meghalaya with immediate effect.

It may be recalled that Sanbor Shullai had recently met the BJP senior leaders, K J Alphons and Nalin Kohli in Shillong

He is also scheduled to share the dais with Prime Minister, Narendra Modi at Polo on Saturday.
