SHILLONG: PN Syiem, after quitting as MLA on Friday, said both the Congress and the regional alliance of UDP and HSPDP will fail miserably in the Assembly polls.
Speaking to reporters, Syiem said the Congress will not come back to power this time as it is directionless and added that voters are also fed up with UDP and HSPDP and for a change, people are longing for PDF. Syiem, however, said a new government will be formed by the regional and likeminded parties.
Govt delayed on VAB, MUDA
Syiem said the Congress-led government had delayed finalising the Village Administration Bill (VAB) and in the matter related to extension of MUDA building bye laws to non-municipal areas for the last two years.
The state government had on Thursday decided to write to the Governor to recall VAB pending with the Home Ministry.
‘PDF has new vision’
The KHADC chief executive member said PDF’s focus is to uplift the farmers and the youth and added that though it is a new party, it has a different vision compared to other regional parties.
According to Syiem, PDF is a combination of both national and regional ideologies.
To a question, Syiem ruled out any pre-poll alliance with other political parties and added that the party will field 26 candidates.
