SWWO-SSCSC office inaugurated

NONGPOH: The Saiden Women Welfare Association (SWWO) and Saiden Socio Cultural and Sports Club (SSCSC) in a pre-Christmas celebration get their full-fledged office which was inaugurated by the PHE Minister and local legislator, Dr Celestine Lyngdoh on Thursday evening.

The office of the SWWO and SSCSC which was inaugurated here was sanctioned under the Special Rural Work Programme at an amount of Rs. 8.50 lakhs.

Speaking at a programme soon after the inaugural session, the President of SWWO, BM Lyngdoh said that it was indeed a proud moment for the women’s of the village to have an office as they too bear huge responsibility not just in the maintaining peace and tranquility but also for the overall development of the village. She also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the local legislator for his generous contributions for the welfare of the women section of the village.

The women body also distributes as many as 35 blankets to the selected poor families of the village as part of the pre-Christmas celebration besides organising various programmes to celebrate the birth of Jesus Chr

The SSCSC under the leadership of MG Kharshanlor as President also appreciates and thanked Dr Celestine Lyngdoh for his able leadership as a local legislator stating that their long aspiration and dream of having their own office has become a reality with the generous contributions of the local legislator.

Meanwhile, Dr C Lyngdoh during the programme handed over a sewing machine to the women body (SWWO) of the village and a work order of Rs. 2 lakhs under SRWP for up-gradation of the office building of the village.

The village leaders also extend their wishes to the people of the state a very happy Christmas and Prosperous New Year 2018. Others present on the programme were village headman, EK Lapang, Nicky Kharthangmaw, GG Marwein, women and youth leaders beside hundreds of local residents.
