Accident
On December 19 around 1 pm, one Bolero pick-up truck (ML-10B-5429) driven by Fernando Thabah crashed into a gorge at Sohbhala village in Ri Bhoi. As a result, the driver and his handyman sustained injuries and were transported to Bethany Hospital, Nongpoh for treatment.
On December 17 around 7 pm, a motorcycle ridden by Leju R Marak (22) plunged into a gorge at Bolsaldam in North Garo Hills. As a result, the rider died on the spot and the pillion rider Guren Momin (22) sustained injuries and was removed to PHC Kharkutta and later referred to a hospital at Guwahati.

Death
On December 19, the body of Mendes Phyllei (83) was found in a paddy field at Madan Rwan, Mokaiaw village in West Jaintia Hills. The deceased was reportedly missing since December 18, 2017. Necessary formalities were observed and the matter is under enquiry.

Kidnap
Rilang Nongrum lodged a complaint that on December 18, unidentified occupants of a local taxi (number not known) disguised as Police personnel, waylaid his truck (AS-01-FC-2-14) at Ialong village in West Jaintia Hills. They asked him to produce his coal Challan and kidnapped his handyman.

Threat
Anti Lan Dkhar lodged a complaint that on December 17 around 10 pm, her son Deng Dkhar stole a hen and threatened her and his brother with dire consequences.
