Five projects inaugurated in Ri Bhoi

NONGPOH: As many as five projects were inaugurated by PHE minister and Umsning MLA Celestine Lyngdoh at ‘Phrut Dak Lake’, Rongmesek, one of the emerging tourist destinations in Ri Bhoi district, on Wednesday.
The projects inaugurated here include four cottages, public latrines and cement concrete motorable road at Rongmesek ‘Phrut Dak Lake’ sanctioned from the tourism department and PHE at an amount of nearly Rs. 1 crore.
Earlier, the PHE Minister also inaugurated the AEC building and the office building of Rongmesek Women’s Council constructed under BNRGSK scheme from the office of Umling community and rural development block and SRWP.
Addressing the inaugural function as chief guest, Lyngdoh appreciated the initiative of the Rongmesek village dorbar and the Rongmesk Tourism Promotion Society (RTPS) to bring about all round development in the village.
Others who were present in the inaugural function include the joint director of tourism, KM Momin, block development officer of Umling C&RD Block, R. Kharbihkhiew and executive engineer, PHE, Nongpoh division, D.D Umdor.
